The Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS Potsdam) at the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam conducts inter- and transdisciplinary research on sustainability transformations. It places a particular emphasis on actively engaging with stakeholders throughout the research process, making research results available to the public and translating research results into actionable policy advice. The Research Area "Energy Transitions and Societal Change" at RIFS Potsdam focuses on the political, social and institutional dimensions of the transition to a carbon-neutral energy and industrial system. It conducts research with a European and international outlook.
